How it plays

Every attempt is one flight. You set the plane off with a swipe and then keep it in the air for as long as possible, moving left or right to change direction. The sky looks open, but obstacles such as spinning windmills stand in the way.

The aim is distance and a high score. A flight ends when the plane hits something or comes down, so steering is less about speed and more about keeping a clean line between obstacles.

Each flight earns coins, and coins buy upgrades for your planes. That gives the game its pull: a flight that went badly still moves you a little closer to a plane that goes further.

Poki notes that this is GeniGames' first game on the platform. Its title on Poki is written 'Perfect Landing, Plane Pilot'.

Five things to try early

  • Make small corrections. Large sideways movements are what usually steer the plane into an obstacle.

  • Look further ahead than the next windmill and choose your side early.

  • Spend coins after every few flights rather than saving for one big upgrade; steady improvements add up.

  • A short flight is not wasted. Note where it ended and plan a different line for that stretch.

  • On a computer, find a comfortable hand position before you launch; the flight starts straight away.

Who it suits, and what to weigh

It suits anyone who wants a short, calm challenge with a clear goal. There is no combat, and a single flight fits into a very short break.

—

Most of the challenge is the same task repeated, so long sessions can feel samey.

—

The game is designed around swipes and feels most natural on a touch screen.
